Cypraea Collective is a creative studio and coworking space for women, rooted in intention, creativity, nature, and heart.
A NOTE FROM OUR FOUNDER
Cypraea began with a simple realization. Somewhere along the way, many of us lost the village. The neighbors who brought you food from their garden. The circle of women who taught each other things. A room full of people who simply knew your name. I wanted to build a small return to that. What started as art nights around my kitchen table with girlfriends has grown beyond my wildest dreams. A space rooted in creativity and collaboration, where women could gather, learn, create, and belong.
Creativity takes space and time to bloom. And I know that community doesn’t always happen by accident. So I’m building the walls, the schedule, and stewarding this space as it becomes its own. I hope you’ll join!

The Name
Cypraea takes its name from the cowrie shell, sacred to Aphrodite, the goddess of love born of sea foam on the shores of Cyprus. For centuries, the shell was treasured across cultures, used as currency, jewelry, and a ritual object alike, worn as a symbol of feminine power.
At Cypraea, we think of creativity and community as their own kind of power, one this space was built to hold.

Every part of Cypraea was chosen on purpose. These are the things we keep coming back to, the ones that shape how Cypraea feels the moment you walk in.

We built the schedule, the offerings, and even the layout around a slower pace, because we believe good work and real connection both need room to breathe.
II. Community Care
Connection matters as much as creativity. A workshop is never just about the skill you leave with. We built the space to hold the craft and the community around it.
III. Creativity Without Perfection
Creativity gets to be messy, slow, and entirely your own here, without an audience to perform for.

A SPACE FOR TEACHERS
Cypraea isn't only a place to learn something new, it's also a place to teach it. We believe creative work shouldn't have to compete for space, so part of what we've built here is room for other artists and instructors to host their own classes, workshops, and offerings. It's meant to be symbiotic: you bring your craft, we help hold the room for it. Ultimately, we want Cypraea to create opportunities for people to do, and share, what they love doing.
If you’re looking to share your art, craft, teachings, and offerings, there are a few ways to do so at Cypraea! You can partner with Cypraea and collaborate on a creative workshop or class series—Cypraea handles everything; you just show up to teach. If you prefer to do your own thing, you can rent the studio space and run your own workshop entirely (and you keep 100% of ticket sales). Choose your own adventure!
Studio Stewards
ARTIST CARE & RECIPROCITY
Cypraea's name comes from the cowrie shell, once used as trade and currency, and that same spirit of reciprocity lives on here. If you're a working artist or instructor and space to create is what's standing between you and your next project, we may be able to work something out. Studio Stewards offer their time and gifts to Cypraea in return for coworking membership, studio access, and creative workshops.
